New generation of solid state coolers

Bulat L.P.

Abstract

Recent developments in the field of solid-state cooling devices both thermoelectric (ТЕ) and thermionic ones (TI) are considered in the article. The development of quantum superlattice allows to design ТЕ microcoolers with the density of the removed heat flux upto 1 k W/cm2 for spot cooling of chips. Tunnel thermal diodes allow to improve TI coolers by bringing the density of the heat flux being removed to 5 k W/cm2 and the temperature to 150 K.

Single stage screw compressors DuoPack units from GRASSO

kollegiya R.

Abstract

More than 30 years of experience in the design and implementation of many promising innovations has allowed the designers and developers of Grasso to create and successfully develop a new type of DuoPack screw compressor units. During their creation, special design solutions were applied, taking into account the specifics of the operation of industrial refrigeration units in Russia. For more than 5 years, Grasso has been supplying this type of compressor units to the Russian market, which have proven themselves in the beer and meat and dairy industries, as well as in carbon dioxide regeneration processes.

Qualitatively new level of supermarket automation

Fetisov Y.Y.

Abstract

Currently, a large number of retail enterprises of various formats are being built in Russia, from small economy class stores to hypermarkets. Experts predict that this active construction will continue for several more years. In addition to Russian retail chains, foreign players are entering our market, bringing with them the most advanced technologies. So, this year, the Finnish company Stockmann opened another shopping complex, which includes a food supermarket (Fig. 1). Danfoss' ADAP-KOOL system was used to maintain high product quality standards and ensure the energy efficiency of the supermarket's refrigeration management. Commercial refrigeration equipment was supplied by the Finnish company Norpe, and its installation was carried out by the Russian company Oleks-Holding (Fig. 2, 3).

Meat factory on computer screen

Zhemoydo S.V.

Abstract

The use of separate electronic controllers in refrigeration is a necessity already recognized by all, but only the integration of all disparate components into a common system allows us to transfer the process of controlling refrigeration units to a qualitatively new level. Only integrated automation based on monitoring systems reveals all the advantages of electronic components. Cryotek understood this long ago. Therefore, about 3 years ago, works on this topic were singled out in a separate direction. For their implementation, the department "Electronic Systems" was created. Since then, Cryoteka has accumulated considerable experience in the use of electronics and monitoring systems (see Refrigeration Engineering magazine No. 9/2003).
